I've recently bought a neglected (nearly derelict) studio flat in the Barbican estate in the City of London. This is a fascinating and unique place to live. With no experience of property purchase, DIY, renovation and very little experience of decorating this has proved a procession of challenges and learning experiences. Through research and by trial and error I've ended up with a lot of useful information and ideas.
This blog is to share the things I've learned - from the efficiency of HSBC's mortgage application process to an effective way to remove nicotine stains from a ceiling. I looked up lots of disparate information online and couldn't always find the answer. So here, for those with similar questions, are my own answers, tips and experiences.
